Henry Allsopp, 1st Baron Hindlip

Henry Allsopp, 1st Baron Hindlip (19 February 1811 – 2 April 1887), was a British businessman and Conservative Member of Parliament.

Hindlip was the third son of Samuel Allsopp (12 Aug 1780-26 Feb 1838),the son of James Allsop and Anne Wilson, head of the brewery firm of Samuel Allsopp & Sons of Burton-on-Trent and his wife Frances Fowler. He succeeded his father in the running of the family business and also represented East Worcestershire in the House of Commons between 1874 and 1880. Allsopp was created a Baronet, of Hindlip Hall in the County of Worcester, in 1880, and in 1886 he was raised to the peerage as Baron Hindlip, of Hindlip in the County of Worcester and of Alsop-en-le-Dale in the County of Derby.

Lord Hindlip married Elizabeth, daughter of William Tongue, in 1839. He died in April 1887, aged 76, and was succeeded in his titles by his eldest son Samuel. Lady Hindlip died in 1906.
