Henry Alexander Douglas

Henry Alexander Douglas (1821-1875[1]) was the third Bishop of Bombay from 1869 to 1876[2]. Born into a noble family[3] he was educated at Balliol College, Oxford and married in 1849. Vicar of Abbotsley, then Dean of Cape Town before his elevation to the Episcopate, he was a "moderate high churchman"[4]. He died on 13 December 1875 and his papers published posthumously[5].
