Henri Montan Berton

Henri Montan Berton (September 17, 1767 - April 22, 1844) was a French composer, the son of Pierre Montan Berton.
He was principally known as a composer of opera, including Montano et Stéphanie in 1798 and La Romance in 1804. He became the director of the Paris Italian opera company in 1806 and was also a professor of harmony at the Paris conservatoire.
Following in the family tradition, his son, Henri Montan Berton (b.1832) was also a distinguished composer.
