Henok Goitom (born September 22, 1984 in Solna) is a Swedish football (soccer) striker of Eritrean origin. Henok played for Swedish under-21 team during qualifiers for the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship and 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.

[edit] Udinese Calcio
Goitom moved to Italy in 2003 to join Udinese Calcio, making his his debut in Serie A in 2004 and scored his first professional goal against Internazionale. He was mainly used on the substitutes bench.
[edit] Loan to Ciudad de Murcia
Goitom spent the 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons on loan at Spanish club Ciudad Murcia, where he finished as Segunda Liga's 5th top goalscorer with 15 goals.

In 2007, Henok Goitom signed a four-year deal with Ciudad Murcia's city rivals, Real Murcia[1], for an undisclosed fee believed to have been three million. He was officially unveiled by the club on July 14 2007.[2].

The president of UD Almería, Alfonso García, has announced his club will protest before FIFA or in court by the draftee of the Goitom player with the Murcia. García, who appeared today in the occasion of the presentation of Lopez Rekarte, showed the journalists a folio signed by he himself and the president of the Udinese, club of origin of Goitom, by which the Italian organization yielded such rights to the set Andalusian.

Goitom is of Eritrean descent, but he was a regular starter for the Sweden national under-21 football team during 2006. He was on the verge of breaking into Swedish national team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup squad in Germany, but only made the preliminary squad. He played for the Swedish U21 team during qualifiers for the 2006 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship and the 2007 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.
