Henk Zeevalking

Hendrik Jan "Henk" Zeevalking (June 7, 1922February 23, 2005) was a Dutch politician. He was co-founder of the political party Democrats 66. He was State Secretary of Justice (1975–1977), mayor of Rijswijk (1979–1981), and Minister of Transport and Water Management (1981–1982).

Hendrik Jan Zeevalking was born on June 7, 1922 in Laag-Keppel, Netherlands.

In 1966, Zeevalking was one of the founders of the progressive liberal party Democrats 66 or D66. He served as vicechair of the party from 1968 to 1969.

He served as alderman of traffic and public works in Utrecht (1970–1974). He was the State Secretary of Justice in the Netherlands from 1975 to 1977. He was mayor of Rijswijk from 1979 to 1981. And he also served as Minister of Transport and Water Management in the Netherlands (1981–1982).

Zeevalking was an active freemason and published several books on freemasonry.[citation needed]

Henk Zeevalking died on February 23, 2005 in Delft, Netherlands.
