Hendrum is a city in Norman County, Minnesota, United States, in the Red River Valley between the Red River of the North and the Wild Rice River. The population was 315 as of the 2000 census. It is the birthplace of national historical humor author John Wayne Kolness.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.7 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 315 people, 120 households, and 84 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,112.3 people per square mile (434.4/km²). There were 139 housing units at an average density of 490.8/sq mi (191.7/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.24% White, 1.59% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 2.86% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.44% of the population.
There were 120 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 27.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.63 and the average family size was 3.24.
In the city the population was spread out with 31.1% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 8.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $35,000, and the median income for a family was $44,167. Males had a median income of $32,000 versus $21,458 for females. The per capita income for the city was $14,530. About 6.3% of families and 9.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.7% of those under age 18 and 7.1% of those age 65 or over.
