Hemmingstedt is a municipality in the district of Dithmarschen, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It was the location of the Battle of Hemmingstedt in the year 1500, when a grand army of Hans, king of the Kalmar Union, composed of Jutes, Holsteiners, and Dutch mercenaries was defeated by the militia of the Farmers' Republic of Dithmarschen, led by brave Wulf Isebrand.
