Based on my experience trying to do this by myself, unless the language in WP:MUSIC is tightened up, a lot of these will be whined about by their owners, no matter how badly they violate WP:CRYSTAL, and we won't be able to delete them without a full-blown AfD process, no matter how crappy the "sourcing" is. --Orange Mike | Talk 19:40, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Release dates
Nice work, so far. But one issue: "Per WP:ALBUMS, there shouln't be a release date in the infobox in the "Released" field until the album is actually released." Actually, I can't find "nail it down" wording on this at WP:ALBUMS. On the talk page for the infobox, there was discussion, but it seems to have stalled out. Also, shouldn't this more properly be a part of an existing project? I'm more than willing to dig in on this one -- there's a lot of garbage out there -- but I think we need as much legitimate consensous on this as we can get. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 20:01, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
- I just threw this together here to see if I could drum up any interest first; if it seems like people are into it, then yeah, I want to move it to something like WP:Future album patrol and put something at the WPP:MUSIC noticeboard. I wasn't trying to start up a secret Star Chamber-like cabal or anything. The release date part I fall back on is that is says "earliest known date that the album was released" combined with the common-sense fact that the field says "Released" as in "was released" not "will be released". - I've gotten off easy then, I guess. I don't see what point someone would think you were trying to make but some folks will argue just about anything.
