Hi, I'm sending this message because i recently recieved a message from you asking me(?) to stop editing pages. I'm a little worried, becuase I made none of the edits you said I did. Is there some wasy someone could've hacked my IP Address?

Regarding your Pentagon diagram...

Hello, I'm currently beginning a project to compile as much data on the 9/11 attacks as possible and wondered if you could tell me anything about your Pentagon diagram. I tried to retrace your steps on the NCDC sire but I'm not sure what the data I'm looking at refers to. Where did you find the heat map that you imposed on the Washington street map? There are a few things that don't add up regarding its size, shape and heat index that I'd like to investigate in depth.

If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Sarego, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. please explain your reverts

You recently reverted one of my edits on Northern Illinois University shooting. The death toll of the incident was increased to six, but most sources still stated that there were five deaths, so I thought that the data on the article was incorrect. I was about the revert the article again until I realized that you were indeed correct. Welcome!

Hi. Welcome to the first issue of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Non-tropical storms newsletter. We know that because this is the first issue of the newsletter, that it is not complete, and coming issues will improve in organization and information. Please bear with us while we continue to improve the still-developing wikiproject and the newsletter.

What's new?

In this issue's edition of What's new?, we would like to welcome you to the new WikiProject. After seeing the other meteorological projects, we decided "Non-tropical storms need a project, too". So I went ahead, and created one. So far, we have several members, and more to come.

The main goal of the project is to organize all articles realted to Non-tropical storms. We have several hundred articles within the scope, but only a few of those are Good articles, and fewer are Featured. We aim to change that. We also plan to start a meteorological collaboration, to aid in the improvement.

So, once again, welcome to the WikiProject Non-tropical storms, from all of the editors here!

New categories, new templates and more. We have created a series of non-tropical storm articles by class and by importance. In addition, we have new templates and a few new articles. So, for now ther isn't much news to speak of as the project is still new.

New articles


Significant storms

First off, thank you for supporting this young project and reading this newsletter.

Main article: January 2008 Western North American super storm

Anyway, as my section is called significant storms I should detail these. The "January 2008 Western North American super storm" contained a very low pressure on record at 28.3 inches, 956 milibars, the equivilant of a category 3 hurricane. The storm produced 132 inches of snow at Kirkwood Ski Resort, CA (maximum amount) and 10 inches of rain in Loma Prieta, CA. The storm killed 12 people due to traffic accidents, falling branches, and flooding. 1.5 million people were left without power at the height of the storm.

Main article: January 2008 Chinese winter storms

A series of significant winter weather events including snow and ice as well as cold paralyzed large portions of central and southern China for over two weeks on the eve of the country's Lunar New Year holiday. Ground and air transportation was largely disrupted stranding tens of thousands of travelers particularly in Guangzhou where at times over 500,000 of them waited at the area's main train station. In addition, water and power supplies was disrupted in some areas with fears of food shortage. The event killed at least between 54 and 63 people including 36 in two separate bus crashes.

Less significant storms

  • A Nor'easter developed on January 13, causing minor impacts in the U.S., but dropping over 1 foot of snow in the Graspe region of Canada.
  • Another strong storm rocked California later on in the month, causing flash flooding and mudslides, especially in burn areas. One tornado was reported in Southern California ripping off the roof of a naval base[1]. 5 miles of Interstate 5 were closed for a time[2].

Jericho map

If I followed the links correctly, you created the ASA/USA map used on Wikipedia. I had a question that I have not found an answer for, and was hoping you could help. We know that there are "21 states west of the Mississippi" in the ASA, but there are a total of 24 states west of the Mississippi. We know Texas is not ASA, but that means that there are still two states west of the Miss. that are not ASA, Many seem to assume that those two are Alaska and Hawaii, but I do not remember the show ever saying that. If either Alaska or Hawaii are in the ASA then one of the red states is wrong. If both Alaska and Hawaii are in the ASA then two of the red states are wrong. My best guess is that Alaska is in the ASA and that Louisiana is not, but I do not remember aver seeing anything official on this question. —MJBurrage(T•C) 23:14, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, good idea for an article. I just have two suggestions. First, I don't think the summaries should be so long, but that's not too big of a deal. However, I think you should include every storm that existed outside of the June 1 to November 30 season. I'd recommend also adding sections for November storms that persisted into November, as well as late May storms that spent much of their duration in June.
