[edit] Articles for Deletion debate
This article survived an Articles for Deletion debate. The discussion can be found here. -Splashtalk 02:41, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- After being undeleted, it also survived a second VFD - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hellogoodbye (2nd nomination) Halo 20:38, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
- Good thing it did too. I've heard so much about the band recently and the first place I looked to find out exactly what is was was Wikipedia. This is definitely a useful article. --Matt0401 22:44, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Lowercase title
The band's name is not capitalized. It should be hellogoodbye and not Hellogoodbye. I had changed all of the problems with the capitalization until HarryCane decided it was necesary to undo everything I did. If you need proof, here are some sites that can prove it;
--Russ is the sex 17:51, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
- According to the EP cover, it's Hellogoodbye - first letter capitalised. See http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B0007KTIME.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg -Halo 19:40, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

- That is the name of the EP. However, the actual name of the band is not capitalized. You can tell this from the links given and the band's logo. [3] For more proof, check the cover of their DVD. [4] --Russ is the sex 20:11, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

- Problem is, in any category pages such as [5], hellogoodbye features last, after capital "Z", under its own "h" category, not under "H" like every other band! I wouldn't know how to change that, because I'm not too well up on changing stuff on Wikipedia, but it would seem to make sense to at least have it so it's categorised under "H" with other bands, surely?

- Frankly, I don't agree with the Wikipedia convention, but I will support the current favoured style, which is to capitalise trademarks beginning with a lower-case letter. See, for example, Blink-182. — cBuckley (Talk • Contribs) 23:56, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lowercase Title
Hellogoodbye is a proper noun, so it should be capitalized.
- I disagree. Yes, hellogoodbye is a proper noun, but, hellogoodbye is not capitalized because the name of the band is hellogoodbye not Hellogoodbye. The members wanted it that way. Hence, the name of the band is hellogoodbye, without a capital H. SilverBulletx3talkcontributions 14:41, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Alphabetized members section
I reverted the alphabetized edits to the members section, to keep the article on par with other band articles, which usually list singer, then lead instrumentalists, then rhythm instrumentalists. And Case was never considered a full member of the band, as he was just filling in on stage a few times. --HarryCane 10:52, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Taking out link
Why is there a link on Forest's name that goes straight to the hellogoodbye page? I am going to remove the link..for now.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Angstd (talk • contribs).
[edit] Here In Your Arms
This song is climbing back to the top of the charts for some reason. We should add something about this.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.115.160.173 (talk • contribs).
- I agree, I'm going to add something about it's sales on iTunes... 71.72.254.135 00:37, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- I can't find an appropriate source for the chart position on iTunes, but I recall it reaching all the way to #5... Help? 71.72.254.135 00:42, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, if there isn't a source, it probably shouldn't go into the article (per WP:V). Also, I for one don't think it is all that notable how much it sold in one specific store. It's basically the same as listing seperate sales charts for BHestBuy, Target, etc. --HarryCane 20:26, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] All of your love remix EP
They released this as a iTunes exclusive which featured 3 remix versions of all of your love but somehow this has been translated into a single which it probably is the 2nd one but technically isnt a single And dosent make sense why someone would think they would release another single when here in your arms is still in the top 20. I've removed that it's a single (havent said its an EP - totally removed it) because i dont think thats its accurate and waiting for someone elses opinon on it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Koala72 (talk • contribs) 07:13, 14 March 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Genre
I'm removing the "power pop" bit in the genre, if you read wikipedia's (or anybody else's) definition of power pop you'll see this band has nothing to do with that label. Please, don't lie. Powerpop may be a pretty word, but that doesn't make any recent indie pop band "powerpop". 80.34.99.182 17:39, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- There are enough sources that beg to differ (Google search, AbsolutePunk.net, their official PureVolume/MySpace profiles). Maybe not on their most recent release, but definitely on their EP. --HarryCane 11:11, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Spelling
Isn't the correct spelling "HelloGoodbye"? Because I've seen that spelling on British music channels. 77.97.230.248 19:06, 30 April 2007 (UTC)DanZieBoy
- No, it's actually hellogoodbye, all lowercase and in one word. --HarryCane 16:29, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Are you sure? Why would British music channels spell it like "HelloGoodbye" then?77.97.230.248 06:05, 10 May 2007 (UTC)DanZieBoy
- They take creative liberty with a lot of band names to make them fit the screen, stand out, whatever.~ZytheTalk to me! 12:46, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Leno Reference Incorrect
On November 22 2007, the band performed on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
How can this be, unless the writer has a crystal ball? I don't know if this is a typo (e.g., writer meant to say "2006" instead of "2007"), or an announcement of a future scheduled appearance. 24.205.142.65 21:18, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
A quick google says it was February 2007, which makes more sense. "Hellogoodbye live on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno (February 22, 2007) " (see http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Jay+Leno+November+hellogoodbye) ~
[edit] Rock
In The Genre part it says Rock, this group has to be one of the least rock type bands ever. They are pop music nit rockAe12079410 22:50, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Beatles
According to this article, this band takes its name from the song "Hello Goodbye"; however, the article for that song clarifies that it doesn't. So, inconsistency? 68.53.74.128 03:17, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
