Detail of an Attic red-figure crater, ca. 450–440 BC, found in Gnathia (now Egnazia, Italy). Français : Ménélas a l'intention de tuer Hélène mais, frappé par sa beauté, il lâche son épée. Un Éros volant et Aphrodite, à gauche d'Hélène, regardent la scène. Détail d'un cratère attique à figures rouges, 450-440 av. J.-C., découvert à Gnathia (actuelle Egnazia, Italie).
