The Helwan HA-300 was a fighter plane manufactured in Egypt during the 1960s. It was designed by the German aircraft engineer Willy Messerschmitt and Hispano Aviación. Originally, This plane was intended to be a small interceptor for the Spanish air force but was transferred to Egypt.

The design of the HA-300 originated as the Hispano HA-300 designed in Spain by a team headed by Willy Messerschmitt. Intended for service with the Spanish Air Force the project was abandoned in 1960. The design was acquired by the Helwan, it was a single-seat mid-wing delta wing jet. Originally designed to be powered by the Bristol Orpheus BOr.12 turbojet the airframe was modified to fit the indigenous E-300 turbojet engine. The prototype, powered by a 4,850 lb (2200 kg) Orpheus Mk 703-S-10 first flew on 7 March 1964. It was followed by a second Orpheus powered aircraft which first flew on 22 July 1965. The third aircraft was fitted with the Egyptian E-300 engine did not fly and only completed taxiing trials when the project was stopped in 1969.
