Hello Albert
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hello Albert was a Chester City F.C. fanzine that ran from 1990 to 2000. Unusually edited by a clergyman (Rev Colin Mansley), the fanzine had 27 issues produced and was produced in a similar sort of style to the magazine, When Saturday Comes. The fanzine dealt with many of Chester's problems throughout the 1990s and the last issue was produced on the day Chester were relegated out of the Football League after a defeat by Peterborough United in May 2000.
The title of the fanzine was derived from many years before, when the Chester matchday announcer would begin by saying "Hello Spion Kop, Hello Albert". It is believed this was being said to a long standing supporter.
Hello Albert ran alongside the more irreverent fanzine, The Onion Bag, which was more willing to spread gossip about the club. In 2007, the club's supporters launched a new fanzine, On The Burger-Line.
