The music was written by John Green, the lyrics by Edward Heyman. The song was published in 1931. The song was introduced by Frances Langford in the musical Here Goes the Bride.
It has since been recorded a number of times by other artists, including Doris Day, who sang it on her album Day by Day in 1956.
