Heliconia collinsiana Griggs (syn.: Bihai collinsiana Griggs) of Heliconiaceae family is an erect herb typically growing 10-15 foot tall, native to Guatemala.

It is a popular ornamental plant in hot regions with a humid climate. The fruits are very attractive, first yellow, then becoming mature to a bright purple-blue color. Can be cultivated outdoors in frost-free areas of Southern California. Grown usually in full sun to light shade (50% sun) and rich well-drained soils.
