Heli USA is the largest helicopter tour company in the western United States based in Paradise, Nevada with tours of the Grand Canyon and Hawaii. According to company website, "over one million passengers have safely flown on Heli USA tours." The company also owns 106,000 acre guest ranch, Grand Canyon West Ranch, located on the west rim of the Grand Canyon.
On August 1, 2007, Heli USA introduced the dual engine, Twin Star helicopter at their exclusive Princeville, Kauai location at Princeville Airport. Operating under the name, Royal Hawaiian Airways, the Twin Star in the only tour helicopter in Kauai which has two engines and two hydraulic systems.
Safety Information: Heli USA employs pilots whose average flight time is more than 5,000 hours. Pilots are trained in accordance with FAA, Part 135 requirements (same standards as for major air carriers). Heli USA flight training procedures consistently exceed the FAA requirements, as do the company’s mandatory, two-mechanic signatures on all major component helicopter maintenance.
Pilots receive IMC (inadvertent meteorological conditions) training for the locations at which they fly.
Internal safety and training program provides for an FAA designated check airman on staff, as well as quality control and factory trained FAA certified technicians for ongoing maintenance.
