Helgi Sigurðsson (born September 14, 1974 in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic football player. He currently plys his trade as a striker for Valur in the Icelandic Landsbankadeild.

He started his career at Víkingur and won the Icelandic championship with them in 1991. He then moved to Fram before signing for Stuttgart in Germany.

In his career he has played in Iceland, Germany, Norway, Greece and Denmark. He signed for Danish club AGF in February 2004. In 2005 he returned to Iceland and signed for Fram for the second time in his career. A year later he left Fram and signed for their Reykjavík rivals, Valur. He was a key player for Valur when in 2007 they won their 20th league title and their first in 20 years. He had a great season, playing all 18 league games and scoring 12 goals. He was picked player of the season in Landsbankadeildin for the 2007 season.

He played one game in the Champions League for Panathinaikos, coming on as a substitute for Nikolaos Lymperopoulos against Valencia C.F.

He made his debut for Iceland in an August 1993 friendly match against the USA as a substitute for Arnor Gudjohnsen and has been capped 56 times since and scored 10 goals.[1] He also scored his first international goal against the USA, in April 2004, earning his 4th cap.
