Helen Stetter
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Helen Caroline Stetter (November 18, 1893 – June 1, 2007) was the oldest living Nebraskan and, at the time of her death at age 113, the fourth oldest verified person in the world. Born in Chadron, Nebraska, the only Nebraskan older than her was Clara Huhn, born in 1887, who died in 2000 at the age of 113 years and 327 days. No other Nebraskan lived longer in the state than she has. Stetter was also listed as one of the 12 oldest people in the world in the 2007 Guinness Book of Records.[1]
She never married and never had a driver's license, meaning she walked anywhere she went.[1] Before she moved to the Pine View Good Samaritan Center in Valentine, Nebraska in 1989, Stetter made candy and cookies to sell or give away.
