Helen Kleinbort Krauze

Helen Kleinbort Krauze (born in Białystok) is a Polish-born Mexican writer and journalist. She is the mother of Enrique Krauze, a Mexican historian and writer.

She arrived in Mexico at the age of six years with her parents through Veracruz, Veracruz, from Santander, Spain. She has been a journalist since 1953 at the newspaper Novedades, since 1989 she has worked for El Heraldo de México (Diario Monitor). She currently writes La Semana con Helen Krauze.

On October 4, 1967 she became part of the group of journalists Veinte Mujeres y un Hombre ("Twenty Women and a Man"). This group, founded by Hylda Pino promoted the profession among women and access to information for them. She is also member of the Asociación Mexicana de Prensa Turística (AMPETUR) ("Mexican Association of Tourism Press") founded in 1975 by Agustín Salmón Esparza.
