Category:Hellenistic and Roman sculpture

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These two types of art are grouped together as it is often hard to distinguish between Hellenistic art and Roman copies of Hellenistic or Greek art.

If a sculpture was produced within the Roman Empire but shows little or no influence from Hellenistic examples (e.g., the Colossus of Constantine), or shows Hellenistic influence but is not a direct copy of a Greek or Hellenistic era antecedent (e.g., Prima Porta Augustus), it should be in one of the subcategories of Category:Roman Empire sculptures.
