Published (in black and white) in "Kristján Friðriksson (1943). Íslenzk myndlist: 20 Listmálarar / Art in Iceland: 20 Artists. Reykjavík, Kristján Friðriksson." page 47. This may or may not be the first publication.

Also published (in black and white) in "Selma Jónsdóttir (1967). Þórarinn B. Þorláksson: 1867-1967. Reykjavík, Listasafn Íslands." page 8.

Note that even photographs which are not artworks have a copyright protection of 50 years from creation in Iceland. Thus it is not clear that this image is in the public domain in Iceland.
