Heinz Julius Rehfuss (25 May 1917–27 June 1988) was a Swiss bass-baritone, who later became an American citizen. Born in Frankfurt, he made his debut in 1938 at the Theater Biel-Solothurn in Switzerland. He spent twelve years at the Zurich Opera; after leaving Zurich in 1952, he made frequent guest appearances in opera houses all over Europe, including La Scala, the Opéra National de Paris, and the Vienna State Opera. He was frequently associated with the title roles in Don Giovanni, Boris Godunov, and Golaud in Pelléas et Mélisande. He also appeared in the 1961 premiere of Luigi Nono's opera Intolleranza 1960.
