[edit] Life
Chur was born in Essen, Germany and began to compose at an early age. Since his Symphony No. 1 (1975 - 1978) he has devoted his work to creating music of a new tonal character. The Piano Sonata No. 7 (1985) is a typical example of this kind of music. Chur is a member of the Group of German Composers (Deutscher Komponistenverband).
He lives in Essen with his wife, Christina.
