Heiner Brand

Heiner Brand (born July 26, 1952 in Gummersbach) is a former West German handball player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics, and has been the German national team's coach since 1997. He is the only person who has won the world handball championship both as a player (in 1978) and a coach (in 2007).
In 1976 Brand was part of the West German team which finished fourth in the Olympic tournament. He played all six matches and scored twelve goals.
He appears on the cover of the Handball Manager 2008 game.
