Heidi Sørensen

Heidi Sørensen (born 14 February 1970 in Levanger) is a Norwegian politician for the Socialist Left Party.
She was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oslo in 2001, but was not re-elected in 2005. She instead served as a deputy representative, but met on a regular basis as Kristin Halvorsen was appointed to the second cabinet Stoltenberg. In October 2007 Sørensen left parliament to become a State Secretary in the Ministry of the Environment.
In her youth Sørensen was an active environmentalist, and was leader of Natur og Ungdom between 1993 and 1994, and later became leader of Friends of the Earth Norway between 1995 and 1998.
