Heda, Shizuoka

Heda (戸田村 Heda-mura?) is a village located in Tagata District, Shizuoka, Japan. Heda village was absorbed into Numazu in April, 2005.

As of 2003, the village has an estimated population of 3,792 and a density of 108.59 persons per km². The total area is 34.92 km².

Heda is well-known for Spider crab called "takaashi-gani" in Japanese which can grow up to 4 metres in length. Smaller versions of Takaashi-gani (abour 1 metre) are available in most of the restaurants and hotels around the village. Stunning views of Mount Fuji can also be seen from the village.
