Hector Cantú (b. September 16, 1961, Weslaco, Texas) is an American writer, editor, and newspaper comic strip creator. He currently lives in Dallas, Texas.
He is co-creator of the Baldo newspaper comic strip with partner and artist Carlos Castellanos. The strip focuses on the Bermudez family: Baldo, Gracie, dad Sergio and great aunt (tia) Carmen. The strip, syndicated by Universal Press Syndicate, appears in more than 200 newspapers -- making it the most widely syndicated Latino newspaper feature. Two Baldo compilation books, The Lower You Ride, The Cooler You Are and Night Of The Bilingual Telemarketers, have been published by Andrews McMeel Publishing, LLC.
