I'm amazed at your ability to write about yourself neutrally. ;-) Most people are horrible at it; get flustered, get their articles deleted, yell and pout, etc.
For future reference, our policies on the matter are at Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. But so far, so good. User:Omegatron 01:51, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!
Hey there, Headgit, and welcome to our great encyclopedia, which currently has more than 2,413,102 articles! Even with this large number, all of your contributions are important (including the small ones), and I hope you like the place and decide to stay! Here's a few starting tips for you:
- You might want to check out the welcome page.
- Then you can have a look at our guidelines.
- After that, you can see here for a cheatsheet on editing pages (for a bigger list, see here).
After reading all this (or even just glimpsing at it), I can understand that you might feel apprehensive about editing and contributing articles, for fear of making a mistake. But don't worry too much about mistakes; after all, you're new. Instead, everyone here encourages you to be bold! If you need help with anything, feel free to leave me a message, or you can put {{helpme}} on your talk page, and someone will show up shortly to give you a hand.
One last thing: when leaving a message on someone's talk page, don't forget to put four "tildes" (~~~~) to automatically sign your name.

- Reply: Hello, again, Headgit! You know, I've never really had an image take long to appear; has one of yours taken a while?
- About citing an article, if you want to learn more about it, you can see here. Citing can be rather difficult to do; it took me some time to figure out (that album article Lethargy mentioned on my talk page was the first article I've ever cited, actually).

- Second Reply: Huh, I'm stumped. I went and worked with those articles (Swim ~ and Pinkflag) where the image wasn't showing up, and I got them to appear correctly. All I did was go to the image's main page (the page where the image actually is on Wikipedia, like Image:Pink flag logo.gif) and copied the name down from the image's title. Then I went back to the article's page, posted the code, and it worked. I really don't know what the problem is. Maybe you could ask an administrator.
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Minimal Compact. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
