Hamid Karzai has been the democratically elected President of Afghanistan since 2004. Therefore, he is not an acting leader. Vladimir2008 20:14, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

The "Islamic Republic of Afghanistan" began in 2004 and Hamid Karzai became the first President. Also, the modern state of Afghanistan was actually created in 1747 by Ahmad Shah Durrani.--I Love Pretty Girls 12:49, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
