Talk:Heavy Gear
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The designs of the mecha in Heavy Gear seem directly based on the ones in the anime series Mospeada, also known as the third series of Robotech. Specifically the battloid version of the Alpha jets, also known as Legios.OzoneO 11:46, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Removed Mospeada reference which is too specific; added link to Real Robot page, which is more appropriate. 12:25, 20 June 2006 (EDT)

- The designs were not based on Mospeada. As one of the main designers, I ought to know. The sole inspiration for the mechanical designs of the game was VOTOMS. Vulture99
Under the TV section, would it be worth mentioning the "in-universe" explanation that the TV show is considered to be a Terra Novan TV show, or is that too narrowly specific for the entry? The Dark 15:51, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
The only image listed is of the cartoon robot. While I realise clear pictures are generally hard to get hold of, it seems a bit odd given that the cartoon was based off the rest of the games, rather than the other way around - this may give the wrond idea, perhaps? - Actually that image is from the RPG and not the cartoon series. It comes from DP9s own HG art gallery of images from the various RPG books and is also included in the Art of Heavy Gear books. Ben W Bell talk 08:40, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Heavygear activision.jpg
Image:Heavygear activision.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
