[edit] False Shuar heads

I saw a French documentary of anthropologists visiting the Shuar with a head. Every Shuar they asked answered that the head was false, it didn't have the required sewn lips. The younger generation did not do it anymore, but an older man (40s, 50s, 60s?) remembered the process. They blamed outsiders on doing fake heads for selling. So maybe the replica heads are not made by Shuars but enterprising Ecuadorians.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.58.3.170 (talkcontribs) 08:05, 10 January 2005

[edit] Has headhunting died out or not?

The opening paragraph of this entry says that headhunting "appears to have died out". But the section on the Shuar says that there are splinter Shuar tribes that still practice headhunting. Could some informed person correct this inconsistency?
