Heathfield Community School is a state secondary school located in the outskirts of Taunton, England. It has 1,181 students aged 11 – 16 and has an Arts College specialist status.[3] The head teacher is Elliott Furneaux and is generally oversubscribed due to it being an extremely well regarded school.

[edit] Facilities

A new sand-based astro pitch was opened in 2003 and was funded partly through local businesses. The pitch is used both by the school and the local community.

The Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre is a theatre which is opened to the community but is also used by the school for teaching and performing. Some year-11 pupils perform their GCSE Drama pieces in the theatre each year. The arts centre is also used by the school to perform musical concerts, however the Christmas concert is performed in the sports hall due to high demand.

[edit] School life

Every year the staff and year 8 students participate in the sponsored walk in order to raise money for the school for extra facilities.

On the last day of school before the Christmas break the whole school participates in a Carol Concert, and is extremely well received by all the students.
