Heather Bellshaw (River City)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heather Bellshaw (played by Jenni Keenan Green) is a fictional character in the BBC Scotland soap, River City.

Heather is one of the original Shieldinch residents, even though her flat itself doesn't sit on Montego Street. She originally sub-let space in Scott and Nazir's business Blink Inc, but when that closed she turned it into the bar that is currently Versus. She was romantically involved with Dr. Marcus McKenzie (played by Stefan Dennis), before he tried to rape her, as he had done with Gina Rossi. When that happened, Heather murdered him, in self-defence, leaving Joanne Rossi to take the blame. However, when Jo was given immunity, during Heather's trial Jo confessed to the murder, knowing that she couldn't be tried further, and Heather was found Not Proven, a verdict unique to the Scottish Courts System. Since then, Heather's ex Duncan had returned to Shieldinch with their daughter Freya, but the two have since moved on to Australia. When she's not visiting her daughter on the other side of the world, Heather continues to run Versus and is again getting close to lawyer Gerry McGrade. Gerry was found to have been using Cocaine and he became reliant on it. Gerry took an overdose and collapsed in the Tall Ship. He has been severely brain damaged and Heather has put him into a home. Heather has had a recent affair with DCI Whiteside due to Gerry's overdose.
