From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Heat is a 1987 crime drama starring Burt Reynolds and adapted by William Goldman from his 1985 novel of the same name (also known as Edged Weapons). The director of the film is credited as Jerry Jameson, but seven different directors worked on the film.
It is the story of Nick 'Mex' Escalante (Burt Reynolds), the best bodyguard in Las Vegas, and his run-ins with the mob. Several changes were made from the novel.
According to Goldman in his book Which Lie Did I Tell?, as of 2000 there are still lawsuits regarding the film.
