[edit] Background
The song was written at the time Adams and Vallance were writing for the album Reckless, but was not recorded until 1987. Jim Vallance comments on his website that he believes that the sounds was more suited to Reckless than Into The Fire.
The song was spoofed in the 1990s by a Vancouver radio station, re-titling the song "Cabs On Fire". This version protests the poor mechanical state and inability of the drivers of many Vancouver taxis at the time.
[edit] Live Performance
Although not as popular as Adams hits such as Run to You or Summer of 69, Adams still often plays the song at his concerts. In these performances he sometimes replaces some of the original lyrics with more comical, lewd lyrics.
