The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) is a non-profit organization in the United States that promotes education and advocacy for cardiac arrhythmia professionals and patients. The Society was founded in 1979 and counted 4,500 members as of January, 2008. It is headquartered in Washington, DC.

The Society is dedicated "to improve the care of patients by promoting research, education and optimal health care policies and standards." [1]

The Heart Rhythm Society's government advocacy efforts center on operating as an intermediary between regulatory agencies and its members. Among these, the society promotes programs to take action regarding legislation, creates and endorses of clinical guidelines, and helps its member find funding opportunities from government agencies such as NIH.
Among its education initiatives, the HRS holds courses throughout the year, certification and CME programs, and an annual conference, called Scientific Sessions.
