Heart Bazaar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Heart Bazaar (ハートバザール) was a Japanese pop group active from about 1999 - 2002. The group was a two-man / two- woman combination, with Satuski Ishii on vocals, Akihiko Suzuki (AKA Akkin) on guitars and synth, Noriko Nagai on bass and Takemi Kokubu on drums. After releasing the album Baobob (バオバブ) in 1999 on Japanese indie label Clip Records, (with Shiina Ringo joining to play keyboards on the fourth track) the group was picked up by Toshiba EMI. With Toshiba, the group released four singles and one album.
After disbanding, the members went their separate ways. Akkin currently plays with the group Jetki. Vocalist Satsuki Ishii went on to perform vocals for the group Hakka (ハッカ), which also subsequently disbanded in 2004. She currently performs solo.
All of Heart Bazaar's albums and singles are currently out of print, and often trade hands among fans and collectors for many times their original price on the secondary market (such as auctions on Yahoo! Japan).
