HealthForceOntariois a collaborative initiative , announced May 3, 2006 ,involving three Ontario Canada ministries: Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) and Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (Ontario) (MCI). by the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. It includes a range of initiatives to help Ontario identify its health resource needs, develop new provider roles to meet changing health needs, work with the education system to provide health care professionals.

Health Force Ontario consists of 4 programs :
HFOJobs – Employment Portal -Is a comprehensive web-based employment portal for nurses and physicians seeking employment in Ontario.
New Graduate Promise - In 2007 every new Ontario nursing graduate will be garaunteed full time employment
HealthForceOntario Recruitment Centre - The HealthForceOntario Recruitment Centre will help navigate the requirements for health care professionals from outside Ontario.
Centre for Internationally Educated Health Professionals - This centre, launched in partnership with Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, is a single point of access for resources, and counseling to help internationally educated health professionals living in Ontario enter the workforce.

Interprofessional, Mentorship, Preceptorship, Leadership and Coaching Fund - The Ontario government accepted proposals from health sector employers, health professional associations, and post-secondary education institutions for a $14.4-million interprofessional, mentorship, preceptorship, leadership and coaching fund that will bring health professionals together to provide more comprehensive care to Ontarians.
Allied Health Professional Development Fund - Members of six regulated health professions are eligible for funding through HealthForceOntario’s Allied Health Professional Development Fund.
Interprofessional Health Education Innovation Fund - This is a $5 million fund that supports health professions learning together.
