[edit] History

Initially introduced with three main programs, Showbiz Tonight, Nancy Grace, and Prime News Tonight, the programming block was part of a new shift on the network, away from the rolling headline news coverage throughout the evening to more talk based programming. In May 2006, the network modified the evening lineup with the addition of Glenn Beck, a self-named talk program featuring conservative Glenn Beck.

Since the introduction of the new programming, the network has seen growth in the ratings during its evening ratings.[citation needed] Headline prime name is lightly used as of November 2007 also the on screen bug now says Headline News and Promos now have the headline news logo.
