[edit] History

Shortly after leaving Korn, by February 2005, Brian Welch was reported to have been working on a solo album, titled It's Time to See Religion Die. A number of demos from these early sessions surfaced on peer-to-peer networks, among them "A Cheap Name", a controversial song about rapper 50 Cent. He has recorded several other songs including "Dream" and "Letter to Dimebag", the latter being an instrumental tribute to the late "Dimebag" Darrel Abott, guitarist for Pantera and Damage Plan. In his autobiography, Welch mentions the songs "Washed By Blood", "Save Me From Myself", and "Rebel", but it is unknown if these songs will appear on the final cut of the album.

In early 2008, Welch announced to have signed with Driven Music Group, and retitled the album, now dubbed Save Me from Myself, named after his autobiography of the same name. Following this, his official MySpace profile went online, and the domain name for this official website was moved to Brianheadwelch.net, originally Headtochrist.com. Welch is currently in the studio with Ralph Patlan finishing the final mix of the album, and plans a tour to follow the release of the album. Recently, Welch announced the album and first single's release dates as July 8 and September 9, 2008, respectively.
