[edit] 216.244.12.76 I need to talk to you
Hi, I am an administrator, Xinyu, and I got a report from ProfesorPaul, about how you've been, "vandalizing" EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF The Twilight Zone. Discuss your intentions, what you have editted, fixed up, and under what pretext you have for doing so. I need you to tell me all the information you can get, and I promise both you and ProfessorPaul, this problem would be negotiable, once the facts has been laid bare, and then I'll see that NPOV, justice, and peace would be restored on this article. Thank you, please reply on my user TALK page. Thank you. --Lord X 01:36, 20 June 2006 (UTC)User:Xinyu
[edit] This Hitler as Jack the Ripper?
I just saw this episode for the first time yesterday, and it struck me that "Hitler" claimed, "I invented darkness!" Could this form actually be a malevolent spirit that takes on a host every so often, and it appears to Hopper's character as Hitler because that's the best way Hopper can understand him? Could this same figure have appeared to Hitler himself as Napoleon? To Napoleon as, say, Julius Caesar? To Caesar as Alexander the Great? And so on?
There are quite a few links, including actors and music composer Jerry Goldsmith, between The Twilight Zone and the original Star Trek series. I wonder if this episode inspired the ST:TOS episode Wolf in the Fold, in which a malevolent spirit absorbs a host and kills women, one of the hosts being Jack the Ripper? James Blish wrote that ST:TOS episode. Maybe this TZ episode inspired him.
This episode also brings to mind the Rolling Stones song "Sympathy for the Devil". -- Pacholeknbnj, 3:10 PM EST, Jan. 2, 2007
