"He's a Heartache" is a name of a 1983 popular Country Music song by Country artist Janie Fricke.
The song was one of Janie Fricke's first #1 hits. Overall in her career, she scored 8 No. 1 hits. The song was introduced to the public in 1983, along with a couple other hits that went to #1, like the song "It Ain't Easy Bein' Easy". Soon after it was released, "He's a Heartache" went to the #1 spot. The song was one of many Countrypolitan songs Fricke recorded and became successful with during her career.
However, some complained that the song sounded way too Pop for Country radio. The book Country Music: The Rough Guide quoted Fricke singing "He's a Heartache" as sounding like, "...an annoyingly peppy arobics instructor...". The strange part about all of this was, as much of a Pop sound the song sounded like, it never made it onto the Pop charts, along with Fricke's other Pop-sounding number.
