[edit] Bot Disconnection - ISP problems

This bot may disconnect between the hours of 8pm and 7am (AEST +10) due to my ISP problems. I apologise for any inconvenience and are currently working on fixing this - I will have a final answer on whether my ISP has fixed this by next Sunday. --Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 10:19, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

I have since withdrawn the running of the bot due to the ISP dropouts and problems. Thanks to all that helped, its been a great experience. I'm sure HighInBC will fill this spot in soon. Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 08:16, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Automated message to bot owners

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 02:58, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Odd report removal

[1]. It removed a report on an IP I blocked, but also removed a user report below it as a 'comment'. The user report was using {{vandal}}. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 22:06, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another odd report removal

[2] This time, it was adding a comment to an IP report, and removed the new IP report I had added below it. Maybe a race condition? i.e. HelperBot loaded the page before I added my report, then saved it after? --Jaysweet (talk) 13:42, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AIV

I'm not familiar with the criteria for adding the backlog tag, but see here. Shouldn't the tag have been automatically added? I added the tag myself because the list had grown to 14 or 15 reports at one point. Enigma message 19:42, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
