Hazrat Mujadid Abdul Wahab Siddiqi

Hazrat Allama Pir Muhammad Abdul Wahab Siddiqi (ra) (1942-1994) was a Sunni Muslim religious scholar and Sufi Master. He was born in 1942, the third son of Hazrat Allama Pir Muhammad Umar Icharvi, one of Pakistan's leading religious scholars of the time, who held the honorary title of Munazare-Azam (the greatest debater) because of his success in defeating the leaders of rival Islamic sects. Despite being the third son, Hazrat Abdul Wahab was made the head of the branch of the Naqshbandi Sufi order by his father. He founded or co-founded a number of important Islamic Institutions in the UK and established the Hijazi Sufi Order.

[edit] Miracles Attributed to Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi

Numerous individuals have attributed a number of miracles, known in Islamic theological terminology as Karamat- the miracles of the Friends of Allah, to Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi. These include giving speeches in two different functions simultaenously, foretelling the future and meeting and showing other people the spiritual presence of the Islamic prophet Muhammad(SAAWS). [edit] Founder of the Hijazi branch of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order

Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi was the founder of the Hijazi branch of the Naqshbandi Mujjadadi Sufi Order. This was due to his receiving various Khilafats- spiritual awards from Sufi Masters of different tariqas,[3] including one from one of the Khalifas of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan:Ziyauddin Ahmad al-Qadiri al-Madani. The Sufi Order is now more often called simply the Hijazi Sufi Order to avoid confusion with other Naqshbandi groups. Before his death he passed on his position as head of the order to his eldest son Shaykh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi.[4] [5]

[edit] Founder of Hijaz College

Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi was the founder of the Hijaz College based in Nuneaton. Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi envisioned that the college would be the first of many educational institutions to revive a model of Islamic Education whereby students learnt both traditional Islamic subjects alongside modern physical and social sciences, philosophy and mathematics, alongside traditional spirituality or Sufism.[8]

Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi was the Founder of the International Muslim's Organisation a political body to unite Muslims in different countries to highlight Islamic Values, Civilization, forming Islamic Centres, opening schools, constructing mosques and forming research centres.It has branches in Holland [9],Belgium, Germany, Canada, Trinidad, Australia and Sri Lanka. Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi was considered a Qutb, a very high form of Awliya' (Muslim Saint) and as per custom in the Muslim world, a Dargah has been built over his grave which is in the grounds of Hijaz College. It is the only one in western Europe. [12] Image:MizaarHijaz.jpg

[edit] Annual Urs Memorial

An Urs or Memorial day to remember the life and works of Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi takes place in the first weekend of July at Hijaz College[13], this also takes place on different days in Toronto[14] and Holland.

The event at Hijaz College has been renamed the Blessed Summit to reflect the British context and to expand the context of the proceedings beyond mere memorial to develop a more pro-active approach to spiritual missionary work within the United Kingdom and beyond.[15]

Hazrat Abdul Wahab Siddiqi trained his four sons in the traditional Islamic sciences and they have all subsequently been educated as professionals, they are: Shaykh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi Barrister-at-Law, Shaykh Noor-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi Solicitor, Shaykh Zain-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi Solicitor, Shaykh Qamar-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi Surgeon. His daughter is married to the present CEO of Hijaz Collge Shaykh Tauqir Ishaq who is also a qualified Civil Engineer.[16] [17]
