The Highlander was adopted as Hazen’s mascot with the colors green, gold and blue to further represent the new school. Hazen is part of the Seamount league and has three main rivals, the Lindbergh High School Eagles, the Renton High School Indians and the nearby Liberty High School Patriots from Issaquah. Hazen has won a total of 4 state championships (one in Boy's Swimming, Girl's Soccer, Hazen's Drill and Pom, and most recently Boy's Soccer[citation needed].
