Hazem Shaheen is an Egyptian Oud teacher and player.
He has studied oriental music and Oud instrument since he was in secondary musical school in Alexandria,Egypt then he moved to Cairo to continue his studies of oriental music and oud instrument in the university
In March 1999 he joined the Arabian Oud House Project in Cairo's Opera House, headed by Naseer Shamma, graduating after two years. After graduating, he was chosen to teach oud there due his excellent skills.
He now teaches Oud in the Cairo Opera House and is the main composer/singer and solo oud player of the Eskenderella music group that he created a couple of years ago with Tarek Abdullah.
Hazem Shaheen is also a leading member in the Masar group consisting of himself on oud ,Hany Bedair on percussion,Miles Jay on Contrabass and Nawar Abass on the piano. Their first album is called Al Aish wa-l Malh.
