Hazel McCallion Senior Public School is a middle school located in Streetsville, Mississauga. The school was opened in 1991 to accomidate students from Willow Way Public School. Hazel McCallion public school is named after the current mayor of Mississauga, Hazel McCallion. The school teaches both English and French Immersion students.

[edit] Typical School Day

The day starts off at 8.05 where students are given entry into the school. Homeroom then begins at 8.15 and ends at 8.28 where students then go to their period 1 classes. Periods are 44/45 minutes long. Period 2 begins at 9.12 and ends at 9.57. At 9.57 the students take part in DPA (daily physical activity) where students are given 20 minutes to do any kind of physical activity (a law by the government of Ontario made to reduce obesity). DPA ends at 10.17 and students go to their period 3 classes. After period 3, they go to their period 4 classes which begins at 11.01 and after that, they go to lunch. Lunch begins at 11.46 and the students eat their lunches in their classrooms, or in the gym if they are portable students until 12.09. At 12.09 the students are given a 29 minute recess lasting until 12.38. At 12.38 the students enter the school to go to their period 5 classes that start at 12.46. The students' final period begins at 1.30 and ends at 2.15.
