Haynes, Bedfordshire

Haynes is a village in Bedfordshire, England, about seven miles (11km) south of Bedford.

Haynes is derived from an old English word meaning "The enclosures". It was mentioned in the Doomsday book. Haynes is a very small and tranquil place. Haynes has one local Pub – The Greyhound – which is well-known throughout Bedfordshire as a good place to eat. There is a Shop/post office.

Haynes has a very fine Village Hall which is used widely. The Lower school is well regarded and has achieved good results in testing.
