Hayley Chapman

Hayley Chapman was born in Perth, Western Australia and is an on-air TV presenter.

She launched her television career when she was seven years old, featuring in a handful of television commercials. It wasn’t until a decade later that she was lured back to the bright lights. Originally from Perth, Western Australia, Hayley relocated to Sydney on the east coast of Australia to pursue an on-air career.

She completed a Communications degree majoring in Journalism at the University of Technology, Sydney before setting out on her quest. She worked in many production roles with stints at SBS World Sports, Delco Productions’ music show Ground Zero, C7 Sport, The Seven Network’s The Great Outdoors and The Big Arvo before landing her dream gig on Network Ten’s environmental/wildlife children’s program Totally Wild as a presenter and producer. For almost four years Totally Wild (TW) took Chapman all around Australia reporting on everything and anything. She’s skydived, surfed with Kelly Slater, abseiled, ridden horses, made crafts, patted tigers, adventure caved, interviewed scientists, academics, athletes, environmentalists, musicians and she’s visited schools and even rubbish tips to talk rubbish.

Hayley is a passionate Ambassador for WWF Australia (Formerly World Wide Fund For Nature) having joined the organization in 2003. Highlighting important environmental issues and wildlife concerns as well as supporting events and causes are things she is enthusiastic about.

When not filming on the road, she researched and wrote stories not only for herself but for other TW reporters. She also field produced other Network programs such as Totally Footy and The Total News (TTN).

While most people freak at the thought of working with kids and animals, Hayley cherished the opportunity. “Kids and animals can be challenging to work with especially at the same time but that’s what I love. Spontaneity keeps things fresh and real.”[cite this quote]

Hayley has been actively involved with environmental projects over the past few years. Along with many environmental and community groups, leaders and water specialists she assisted in the coordination of the swift and effective ‘Say No to Desalination’ campaign in Sydney 2006.

She has also worked on a handful of television pilots in Australia and Los Angeles where she has been residing since 2006.
