Hayley Atwell (born 1982) is an English actress.

An only child, Atwell's part native American father (once a photographer, now a motivational speaker in California) and her English mother separated when she was 2.
She was a sixth-former at the London Oratory School, West London, and chose to train at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.[1], graduating in 2005, in place of studying philosophy and theology at Oxford University.

In March 2008 Atwell played the title character in Major Barbara at the National Theatre, London, opposite Simon Russell Beale and Paul Ready.
She appears in the forthcoming films Brideshead Revisited and The Duchess in which she plays Lady Bess Foster.
She served on the jury for the 2007 British Independent Film Awards.
